Recipe: Healthy Chocolate, Raisin and Oatmeal Cookies (Vegan option also)

Evening guys! Yeh so I’ve been ill for the past week, most likely, if not certainly due to the SAVAGE weather here in London.

So seeing as I’m feeling ever so sorry for myself, I thought I’d post about something that always makes me happy. Food. I make these cookies all the time and if I’m completely honest with you, I never follow a set recipe; just change it up depending on how I want them that day. So if you’re into specific measurements, millilitres, tablespoons, grams…yeh…sorry to disappoint.

Ok so, ingredients:

* 1 cup: Porridge oats (any oats, we don’t discriminate here)

* 1 or 1/2 cups: Rice flour

* 1 egg ( or for the vegan option: flaxseed and water mix….ooooor, just don’t put the egg in, you really don’t need the egg that much)

* 1 ripened banana

* Baking powder- how much? I dunno, a big spoonful?

* As many raisins as you want; gosh this recipe is trash I’m going home! No I started so I’ll finish

* Chocolate, any, I usually use dark though because I prefer that over milk. Is that just me??

* Sprinkle of cinnamon

* Some almond milk (if you want them extra squishy)

* Brown sugar, or caramel flavoured sweetener for taste.

* You can add whatever else you want, peanut butter, nuts, Chris Evans…all optional but for now, that’s all.

1. Blend the oats till they form a fine flour

2. Pour that into a bowl and add the rice flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and sugar. Mix well.

3. Blend the egg, banana, and caramel sweetener *if mixture is too firm, add another egg, banana, or a splash of milk

4. Crush the chocolate and add both that and the raisins to the dry mix and stir

5. Add wet ingredients to the dry and stir until they form a thickish mix. (It shouldn’t slip off the spoon)

6. Roll about a heaped spoonful into balls and then squash them flat. (The mixture may be quite sticky so coat your hands in a bit of rice flour before rolling)

7. Lay them out on some greaseproof paper, or tinfoil spritzed with some olive oil and place in a preheated oven. I think mine is usually set on 225 degrees. Let them cook for about 15 minutes and take them out when you feel they are hard enough. The longer they cook, the harder they will be.

And voila!

Hope you enjoy…let me know how it goes if any of you dare to try this out. Gonna go back to self pity now…no I joke, I’ve moved on to crying now. Ok I’ll stop with these lame jokes..have a good night darlings

Appreciation Post: Triple Whammy!

Please excuse my extra-ness but I’m so frickin excited! When you read why you’ll probably wonder how sad my life could be to get so excited about all this but sometimes it’s good to appreciate the smaller things 😊. So, without further ado

They’ve just released the new trailer for Infinity War and I almost cried…(blame my hormones for that part, cried watching ANTM last night because the girls were just so fierce). That and the upcoming release of Black Panther have brought me so much happiness today, so thank you Marvel!

2. HaloTop Ice Cream.

The US based company has brought out a whole bunch of delicious ice creams in 26 different flavours …Red Velvet, Birthday Cake, Green Tea Mochi, and so many others…and at 240-360 calories per pint? I better be thanking them! They have FINALLY come to the U.K. and brought 7 yummy flavours with them

It’s taken me a bajillion years to get my hands on them because they sell out so quickly but I finally did.

Grab them at Tesco, WholeFoods, or Ocado.

3. Music: As a whole yes, I love music, but right now I’m talking about two specific songs

* Manya: Mut4y and WizKid

This is a song I’ve been listening to on repeat by Mut4y and WizKid…so frickin catchy!! Here’s the video…

*Second 2 None: Mura Masa ft Christine And The Queens

I heard this song a long time ago but no matter how many times I listen to it, I never get bored or sick of it….absolutely adore Christine And The Queens, I’ve watched a bunch of interviews with her too and  she seems like such an intelligent, chill, lovely, person.

4. You Guys.

Just wanted to thank you guys for following my blog and putting up with my constant rambling…no I don’t have a bajillion followers but this isn’t all about numbers for me; it’s about genuine interactions. I appreciate you all ❤️

Have a great week guys 🙂

Winter Wedding Look

Gooooood afternoon everyone, or morning, I don’t know what time I’m going to post this because I’m currently writing this on the way to the shops but I thought I’d start it now so I don’t forget…

Yeh so, I’m going to my first wedding of the year, yaaaayy!!! Really hoping this is the first of many, *message to any of my friends reading this* did you hear that friends?…CAN ONE OF YOU PLEASE GET MARRIED SO I CAN HAVE CAKE?!

Anyways, I thought I’d make a bit more effort than my usual, *have a wash, slap some mascara on my eyelashes and pray for the best* method that’s wearing a tad thin…. so it seemed a good idea to show the results of this experiment with you beautiful people…

Pray for me.

The wedding was loooooovely by the way. The bride (my friend) looked absolutely breathtaking and I’m not even saying that because she’s my friend, she looked amazing…meh, I’ll let the photos speak for themselves…. and AAAAAAANNNDDD guess who caught the bouquet…go on…..

ask me what the heck is going on with my hair…I dare you.

Here are a few more pics from the evening DSC_6490

Life Can Suck Sometimes….

I didn’t even realise that it’s been almost a week since I last posted…I don’t know where the week went, it’s as though my days dragged and flew by at the same time…

This post is going to be quick because I don’t want it to be a long rant and I need to head off to the gym….but yeh

Life has been weird for me lately….I recently took a break from work because I wanted to concentrate on my writing and acting, and to be honest, it’s been hard. I’ve been working since I was 16, and haven’t stopped since, it’s literally been all I knew; so to then go from 100-0 so quickly just threw me off  completely. I felt lost. I didn’t know who I was outside of work. I felt like I had no routine, no goal, no purpose ….and it wasn’t a pleasant feeling….so here I am writing this to try and remind myself, and others, to just trust the process…..I need to get to know myself again, do the things I like to do, start finding hobbies again, and just live…because it’s so easy getting caught up in the rat race that we forget about who we are once we’re stripped of our survival instincts to just work and block everything else out.

So yeh, sorry if this isn’t all happy clappy fairy dust and unicorn sprinkles but I want to be as transparent with myself, and with you guys as possible…. and if anyone else is feeling crappy, you will be ok. Hang in there bubba ❤

hang in there baby

Favourite Skincare Products

Afternoon everyone, just done a round of washing and and thought I’d do a quick post…. Don’t ask me why I felt the need to disclose that I’ve just done a round of washing, I don’t know. Pride? Am I……….adulting?

Anyway, just thought I’d start this before I go to the gym and I’ll finish this once I’m back because I haven’t taken any photos of the stuff I use….which I realised is like 3 products…*p…..Someone tell me why I’m doing this post, please.

Whatever, as Anne Robinson says, I’ve started so I’ll finish.

This is my skin…no, it’s not perfect but it’s mine so that’s all that matters…and please excuse the 4o’clock shadow, haven’t threaded le ‘stache yet..or my eyebrows…this is going well so far, two thumbs up.

(Realised my wet hair looked like a shaggy dog on a rainy day so took a few more pics once it dried off at the gym)

  1. Exfoliating gloves. £1 – Primark.

People say you shouldn’t exfoliate your face often and they’re probably right…but I clearly don’t listen, I use this every time I shower.

2. Original Source Shower Gel. £1 (on offer) – Superdrug

(Apologies for the poor photo. Forgot to take a pic of this until now…had to use flash….whilst watching The Flash…..FLASHCEPTION!!)

To be completely honest I use whatever I can get my hands on. Again, why am I doing this post?

3. Johnson’s Baby- Intense Moisture Cream. £2 – Superdrug

Ok, this one is actually really useful for you to know about. Since I started using this my skin has been waaaay softer than it normally is….soft as a baby’s behind in fact….which makes sense because this is probably what the cream is for

4. Carmex. £2.69- Superdrug

I mainly use this for my lips but sometimes the sides of my nose get really dry, especially if it’s super cold or windy so I just stick a bit of this on each side and it works a treat. Cherry or strawberry are my go to flavours.

Hope you guys enjoyed my somewhat useless post…..If you have any skin tips or tricks please feel free to share them…. also, does anyone else exfoliate every day or is it just me?

How Ugly Are You?

Good evening all…Incase you did not know (which you probably didn’t), I started blogging a while back but took a break because….well life. I was going through my posts on my old blog and came across this…I still think it’s so relevant so I’m going to recycle that post here…

Ok this is going to be brief because what I’m about to put below is all I want you take out of this post…no “laadeedaa this is what I bought today/ this is what I wore” …No. Please girls/boys/men/women/EVERYONE remember this always ❤

– Don’t diminish your worth based on what you think society wants/likes
– Stop focussing on your “flaws”
– Stop comparing yourself to other people
– Love yourself
– Respect yourself
– Know yourself; don’t try and be who you think everyone wants you to be, you are the way you are for a reason. Embrace it.

Darling, you are enough, and don’t let anyone tell you or make you feel otherwise.

Review-Movie Edition: The Greatest Showman

Let me start by saying this. I’m an action girl at heart. My favourite genre has pretty much always been action and I’ve spent years obsessing over all things Marvel and DC so when I first heard about this musical, I wasn’t that interested. That is, until I saw Zendaya in a pink wig.

So I went to watch this with my friend the other day and here’s my honest thoughts….

I love this film. Absolutely love everything about it.

The acting on every part was absolutely perfect. Not too much, not too little, just enough for you to feel something for every character, and to feel invested in this narrative. Hugh Jackman is a man of many talents and yet again he proved that to be right. His relationship with onscreen love Michelle Williams was believable and real. Their relationship was liken to that of a fairytale but after the “happy ever after”, where sh*t gets real and the cracks start to form. Seeing them go through their hurdles and how they had to find each other again was beautiful.

The overall casting was also great, I fell in love, (well, deep like, let’s not go too far) with all the characters. Especially the little girls, whoever cast them did a good job because they’re both adorable and goofy at the same time.

The ensemble pieces were great, amazing vocals from all the cast, and the choreography…oh darling, just watch it and you’ll see. The visuals were breathtaking, shot after shot stunned and amazed me and I’m trying to think of a flaw in this movie but I really can’t. Not all reviews will be like this don’t you worry, I’m still yet to review “Mother!”

I have never cried throughout an entire film before. NEVER. But for this film, from about 5 minutes in it was like the taps were turned on and then broken. I was in bits throughout.

This movie has made the list of my top 20 favourite films of all time (that might only last a week, time will tell). Not just because it made me cry throughout, that isn’t necessarily the sign of a great film no. It’s on the list not only because it made me feel, but more importantly. It made me believe in myself.

I’ll leave you guys with my favourite song from this movie. I still can’t listen to it without welling up.
