Review: Beauty Edition: MakeUp Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer

Afternoon darlings, hope you’re all good, if not, I hope whatever you are going through gets better, and I’m here if you need to talk… anyways, I bought these concealers last month after watching a whole bunch of Youtube videos saying how great it is, especially in comparison to Tarte’s “Shape Tape” concealer.

This is what MUR said about these concealers: “The concealer for everyone. 18 shades ranging from fair to deep, in cool, neutral and warm undertones. Lightweight yet full coverage concealer to cover blemishes, even skin tone and counteract dark circles, with a matte finish that won’t setting or accentuate fine lines and pores.

I was already impressed by how many shades this concealer came in, it’s refreshing to see a brand that instantly makes itself accessible to a vast majority of skin shades and undertones off the bat and not wait to gauge popularity before expansion. I purchased my shades online because my local Superdrug stores don’t have enough shelf space to stock all 18 shades, which is completely fair enough so there’s absolutely no issue there… but yes, I bought shades C12 and C13 and I’m actually going to buy a darker shade to use as a contour because I love these concealers…. I think I’m talking too much… onto the pics

And here are my struggle swatches

Thoughts on:

Packaging:  I think the packaging is adorable and it’s cute and lightweight; not much more to be said on that.

Formula: I don’t like feeling like I’m wearing makeup, which is a big reason why I don’t wear foundation, that and laziness, let’s say it’s 60/40. Ok that’s a lie, 20/80 but whatever. I don’t like heavy formulas and this isn’t.  Really light, smooth, with a nice matte finish which I didn’t get with my old Benefit concealer which was super shiny. It blends well and doesn’t go into the creases too much either  which is great

Price: Well it’s £4 ($6 I think) which is AHHMAAAZZZING!!  I’m the cheapest person I know so this price point brought me so much joy…it’s so worth it also

Wearability: It’s long lasting, I’ve worn this on nights out and it hasn’t really budged, need to go over it and re-blend when it goes into the creases after some intense dancing/sweating but apart from that, it fits the bill.

So yeh, essay over, in conclusion this is a great product, not just for the price but overall..hope to see more amazing products like this from MUR, going to check out their highlighters next 🙂

Here’s a before, during, and after of a makeup look I tried out using this concealer both under my eyes, and as a lip colour.

Btw, just took my hoodie off in the last pics, it’s the same day, I just took so long faffing around that it got dark, hence the rubbish lighting.

Anyone else bought these concealers?? Did you like them?

Winter Wedding Look

Gooooood afternoon everyone, or morning, I don’t know what time I’m going to post this because I’m currently writing this on the way to the shops but I thought I’d start it now so I don’t forget…

Yeh so, I’m going to my first wedding of the year, yaaaayy!!! Really hoping this is the first of many, *message to any of my friends reading this* did you hear that friends?…CAN ONE OF YOU PLEASE GET MARRIED SO I CAN HAVE CAKE?!

Anyways, I thought I’d make a bit more effort than my usual, *have a wash, slap some mascara on my eyelashes and pray for the best* method that’s wearing a tad thin…. so it seemed a good idea to show the results of this experiment with you beautiful people…

Pray for me.

Well…..FOUR FRICKIN DAYS LATER I DECIDE TO FINISH THIS POST!! *slow claps*

The wedding was loooooovely by the way. The bride (my friend) looked absolutely breathtaking and I’m not even saying that because she’s my friend, she looked amazing…meh, I’ll let the photos speak for themselves…. and AAAAAAANNNDDD guess who caught the bouquet…go on…..

I was going to do a post on what products I used, but this post has become way longer than expected and I pretty much use the same 2-5 products and I’m going to do another beauty look before Valentine’s Day so I’ll stick em there.

Hope you’re all having a good week so far..remember, you is smart, you is kind, you is important ❤

Favourite Skincare Products

Afternoon everyone, just done a round of washing and and thought I’d do a quick post…. Don’t ask me why I felt the need to disclose that I’ve just done a round of washing, I don’t know. Pride? Am I……….adulting?

Anyway, just thought I’d start this before I go to the gym and I’ll finish this once I’m back because I haven’t taken any photos of the stuff I use….which I realised is like 3 products…..cr*p…..Someone tell me why I’m doing this post, please.

Whatever, as Anne Robinson says, I’ve started so I’ll finish.

This is my skin…no, it’s not perfect but it’s mine so that’s all that matters…and please excuse the 4o’clock shadow, haven’t threaded le ‘stache yet..or my eyebrows…this is going well so far, two thumbs up.

(Realised my wet hair looked like a shaggy dog on a rainy day so took a few more pics once it dried off at the gym)

Products:

  1. Exfoliating gloves. £1 – Primark.

People say you shouldn’t exfoliate your face often and they’re probably right…but I clearly don’t listen, I use this every time I shower.

2. Original Source Shower Gel. £1 (on offer) – Superdrug

(Apologies for the poor photo. Forgot to take a pic of this until now…had to use flash….whilst watching The Flash…..FLASHCEPTION!!)

To be completely honest I use whatever I can get my hands on. Again, why am I doing this post?

3. Johnson’s Baby- Intense Moisture Cream. £2 – Superdrug

Ok, this one is actually really useful for you to know about. Since I started using this my skin has been waaaay softer than it normally is….soft as a baby’s behind in fact….which makes sense because this is probably what the cream is for

4. Carmex. £2.69- Superdrug

I mainly use this for my lips but sometimes the sides of my nose get really dry, especially if it’s super cold or windy so I just stick a bit of this on each side and it works a treat. Cherry or strawberry are my go to flavours.

Hope you guys enjoyed my somewhat useless post…..If you have any skin tips or tricks please feel free to share them…. also, does anyone else exfoliate every day or is it just me?

(AND THE SAME GOES FOR MEN!!!)

– Don’t diminish your worth based on what you think society wants/likes
– Stop focussing on your “flaws”
– Stop comparing yourself to other people
– Love yourself
– Respect yourself
– Know yourself; don’t try and be who you think everyone wants you to be, you are the way you are for a reason. Embrace it.

Darling, you are enough, and don’t let anyone tell you or make you feel otherwise.

YOU. ARE. ENOUGH.
